(DLR) are looking in a joint appointment procedure (Jülich model) for a PROFESSORSHIP (W3) for „Aerodynamics“who is to be appointed to the Technical University of Braunschweig and, at the same time, released to work at DLR (with reduced teaching duties of two semester hours per week) in the function of the Director at the DLR Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technologyto take over the management of the DLR Institute. The DLR Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology is based at two locations - Braunschweig and Göttingen - and has a department in Cologne. The institute is headed by two directors located at each site. In the field of aircraft aerodynamics, the Technical University and the DLR Institute want to further intensify the cooperation in research and teaching that has been established for many years and strengthen the joint use of resources. Teaching includes lectures and exercises of two semester hours per week on numerical methods in flight physics. Our expectationsThe willingness is expected to lead the overall institute collegially with the director at the Göttingen site and to take over the executive management in rotation with him. In cooperation with 55 DLR institutes from the research fields of aeronautics, space, energy, transportation and the cross-sectional areas of security and digitalization, the existing cooperations with industry as well as national and international universities and research institutions are to be continued and further expanded as required.
