W3 Professor in Molecular Plant Science

Your responsibilities

The faculty is seeking candidates (m/f/d) with an internationally outstanding research profile in the biochemistry, cell biology, physiology and especially systems biology of plant metabolism. Research should focus on the biosynthesis, transport, accumulation, and function of secondary metabolites. This should include the biochemical characterization of corresponding enzymes and regulators. Holistic systems biology-based approaches (transcriptome, proteome, metabolome) with non-model plants are of interest. Furthermore, research covering the adaptation of plants to environmental stresses including infections by bacteria, fungi and viruses complements the local research interests. The active integration into the key research aera “Engineering for Health” with the research centres BRICS and PVZ is expected. Furthermore, a close cooperation with the local research partners of the TU (HZI, DSMZ, PTB, JKI, TI) is essential. Responsibilities of the future professor include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level of Biology, Biotechnology and Biochemistry.
