Your responsibilities

A professorship (W2) for organic chemistry is to be filled at TU Braunschweig. The focus should be on basic research in the field of organic synthesis, with a focus on at least one of the following areas: Organocatalysis, photoredox catalysis, metal catalysis, photochemistry, electrochemistry, bioorganic synthetic chemistry, atom transfer reactions, sequential transformations and related topics. Candidates shoud be internationally recognized. The professorship is associated with teaching duties at all levels of student education for the courses in chemistry (BSc, MSc) and biochemistry/chemical biology (MSc.)

  • Willingness to participate in interdisciplinary collaborations within the key research areas "Mobility" and "Engineering for Health" of TU Braunschweig, particularly in the areas of "Chemistry in the Life Sciences" and "Chemistry of Energy Conversion"
  • Very good command of the English language and willingness to teach in English
  • Willingness to participate in the self-administration of the university
  • Willingness to participate in the internationalization of the university and in research
  • Proven experience with succesfull acquisition and willingness to raise third-party funds
  • Experience with and willingness to raise third-party funds

Requirements, § 25 NHG

  • Completed university studies
  • Proven pedagogical suitability
  • Special qualification for deepended independent scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by an above-average doctorate
  • Additional academic achievements, usually within the framework of a junior professorship, a post-doctoral lecture qualification (habilitation) or achivements equivalent to a habilitation.
