The research focus of "neuromorphic computing" offers outstanding opportunities to combine quantum technologies with applications in information technology, artificial intelligence and deep learning.
The professorship will focus on hardware and software design for "neuromorphic computing" based on VLSI systems and modern CMOS processes. By hybrid integration of a quantum physical platform such as a nanophotonic network, quantum computers or superconducting networks into a digital environment, the professorship shall bridge the gap between quantum physics and information technology.
An important criterion is a possible close connection of the research to projects of the partners of the Cluster of Excellence QuantumFrontiers and the research center Laboratory For Emerging Nanometrology (LENA).
In teaching, the professorship is located in the study programs of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Physics of TUBS.
Proven (preferably also international) research and teaching experience in the above-mentioned field
