Professorship of Instrumental Analysis (W2)

Your responsibilities

We are looking for an internationally recognized researcher with an interdisciplinary research and teaching profile in food analysis or analytical chemistry. The focus of the professorship should be on an area of ​​modern food analysis. This may involve, for example, non-targeted analytics (omics techniques, including multivariate data analysis) or activity-based isolation of bioactive food ingredients.


The professorship is associated with teaching duties at all levels of student education in food chemistry.


The successful applicant (f/m/d) is expected to support the university’s key strategic themes across all performance dimensions (Research, Study and Teaching, Transfer, and Governance and Administration): internationalisation, sustainability, digitalisation, equality and diversity, transfer, and knowledge exchange.

International research and teaching experience, excellent command of the English language, as well as the ability and willingness to teach courses in English are mandatory.

Requirements, § 25 NHG

  • A degree in a relevant field
  • Pedagogical aptitude
  • Special qualification for in-depth independent scientific work, as a rule proven by an above-average doctorate
  • Additional academic achievements, usually within the framework of a junior professorship, a post-doctoral degree (Habilitation) or through achievements equivalent to a Habilitation

Even though this is a permanent full-time position, a part-time appointment may be possible upon request.
